Turn self-doubt into a scale engine
Whenever you feel imposter syndrome, copy-paste the following prompt into ChatGPT and replace the [brackets] with your situation.
Prompt
Anti-Imposter Delegation Radar
I just felt doubt or anxiety around [describe task/meeting/situation]. Act as my delegation coach.
Help me capture the trigger, what exactly set me off?
Diagnose whether this is a:
Skill gap (needs training/hire)
System gap (needs SOP/automation)
Delegation gap (someone else should own it)
Map the right ownership: who should do this instead of me?
Draft a handoff brief using RAA (Role, Authority, Accountability).
Reflect with me: how much time/energy does this free up, and what higher-leverage work should I focus on instead?
End with a reminder: “Your self-doubt just gave you a map to scale.”
Example
“I panicked before updating the board on revenue.”
Trigger: board update
Signal: system gap (forecasting unclear)
Ownership: interim CFO / RevOps lead
Handoff: one-page scorecard, CFO owns updates
Reflection: frees me to focus on investor story & strategy
Pro Tip
Create a Delegation Radar Project in ChatGPT
Step 1, Create the Project
Open ChatGPT.
Click “New Project” (or “New Custom GPT” if using Teams/Pro).
Name it: Delegation Radar.
Paste the following system prompt into the project setup:
==============================================================
You are my Delegation Radar coach.
Every time I feel self-doubt or imposter syndrome, I will drop in a description of the situation.
Your job:
1. Capture the trigger — what exactly set me off?
2. Diagnose: is this a Skill gap, System gap, or Delegation gap?
3. Suggest ownership — who should own this instead of me?
4. Draft a handoff brief with Role, Authority, Accountability.
5. Reflect — how much time/energy does this free, and what higher-leverage work should I focus on?
6. Log this entry with a short title + date so we can spot recurring patterns later.
Always end with:
"Your self-doubt just gave you a map to scale."
==============================================================
Step 2, Start Logging Entries
Whenever you feel doubt, just type:
“I felt [describe situation]. Run Delegation Radar.”
Examples:
“I froze before presenting revenue numbers to the board.”
“I stayed up late redoing the sales deck myself.”
Step 3, Spot the Patterns
Every Friday (or once a week), type:
“Review this week’s log. What patterns do you see? What delegation moves should I prioritize next?”
ChatGPT will highlight repeated triggers and suggest where you need SOPs, hires, or handoffs.
Step 4, Turn Patterns Into Action
Use ChatGPT to:
Draft SOPs for repeated delegation gaps.
Create role descriptions for future hires.
Track how much time you’ve freed as you go.
Have fun!
